# List Collections Task Types

> Returns collections task types for configured customer/loan boarding: create the customer, then POST /loans. This catalog does not indicate account enablement. For origination use GET /origination/task-types.

Use this authenticated lookup to populate collections setup screens. It returns
only collections task types, as a JSON array of case-sensitive strings:

```json theme={null}
["Collections"]
```

For origination screens, use
[List Origination Task Types](/api-reference/endpoint/task-types/list).
Both operations return strings; no scope discriminator or response filtering is needed.

## Request

```bash theme={null}
curl --request GET 'https://api.finosu.com/collections/task-types' \
  --header 'X-API-Key: YOUR_API_KEY'
```

## Using the selected type

For accounts configured for loan-based collections boarding:

1. [Create the customer](/api-reference/endpoint/customers/create) with
   `taskType: "Collections"` and the required customer fields, if not already present.
2. [Create the loan](/api-reference/endpoint/loans/create) with the matching
   `customerId`, external loan `id`, `taskType: "Collections"` and required loan fields.
   New loans require `servicingStatus: "ACTIVE"`.

Loan boarding creates the configured collections schedule. Follow the linked
schemas for required fields and existing-record updates. Do not send `Collections`
to origination enrollment with `scheduleMode: "enroll"`.

This read-only catalog does not create schedules or indicate account enablement.
The values are the same for every authenticated company; write operations still
validate the request and the company's configuration.

## Response and compatibility

HTTP `200` returns the string array above, with no pagination. Missing, empty,
invalid, or inactive API keys return `401`.

The former `GET /task-types` route is replaced by the two scoped catalogs and
is not retained as an alias. Use this endpoint for collections and
`GET /origination/task-types` for origination. The existing
string-array parser can be reused. Coordinate this URL change with deployment of
this endpoint before switching the integration. Read values by name rather than
position and do not assume a fixed array length.
